FOOTBALL DEVELOPMENT PLAN

ASSISTANT FOOTBALL DEVELOPMENT PLAN OFFICER

Purpose of Job

This is a key position to assist the Football Development Officer in achieving the aims and targets of the Sutton United Football Development Plan (FDP).

specifically:-

To generate maximum use of the new facilities at Sutton United FC (hereinafter referred to as ‘the club’)and to develop interest and awareness and thereby contribute to the aims and targets of the Plan

To co-ordinate the delivery of an agreed programme of football development involving coaching and other associated activities within the Football in the Park Project

To ensure liaison with other agencies including schools/clubs and other bodies in order to achieve the FDP vision of making the club the focus for inclusive football in the Community

Key Objective

To assist the FDP Officer in the delivery of the various elements of the FDP including the management of key positions, Schools Football Development Officer, the Youth Football Development Co-ordinator, the Women’s and Girls’ Football Development Officer, the Club Coaching Coordinator and the Volunteer Co-ordinator.

Duties and Responsibilties

To assist the FDP Officer in his responsibility of ensuring the aims and targets contained within the Job Descriptions of the other officers are achieved.
To monitor the progress of the Plan.
To be a point of contact concerning Football Development Plan matters.
To assist in the arranging of necessary training for the Football Development Team.
To assist the FDP Officer in the aims and targets relating to referees training.
To assist the FDP Officer in any other elements of the FDP not covered by the Job Descriptions of the other officers.
To work with the Surrey FA in order to achieve and importantly maintain Community status for the Club.
To assist in the organising of at least one Youth Football tournament per year.
To assist in the developing of the “Greenshoots” Coaching Programme in conjunction with the Coaching Co-ordinator.
To assist the FDP Officer in ensuring that the disability and social inclusion elements of the Plan are met.
To liaise when required with the Media Officer in order to ensure that appropriate publicity and information is provided as appropriate.
To assist in the development, maintenance and monitoring of a Management Plan for the operation of the new facilities.
