This section identifies how the club will support every player to realise his/her potential - in particular support the development of skills at a younger age. The 5-11 year-old group is absolutely crucial to embedding basic skills, enhancing enjoyment of the game, developing healthy lifestyles and creating a new generation of talented players.
Aim
Ensure that Sutton United is able to provide a top quality football environment by investing in the development of coaches and thereby raising the standards of football across all age groups and abilities. Develop a culture of continuous improvement and skill development from 5 upwards.
Objectives
All youth team coaches( up to 16) to attain formal coaching qualifications.
Youth team coaches to develop further their understanding of the coaching process by attendance at The FA Age Appropriate Introductory Coaching Module.
Develop the skills of managers,volunteers and players within the 5-11 age structure.
Develop the skills of the 5-11 age group by running weekly training sessions.
Improve the overall coaching standard at the club (5-11 age group).
Improve the overall coaching standard at the club (12-16)..
Improve the general coaching standard at the club.
Extend the spectrum of coaching.
Encourage the development of a wider interest in coaching.
Develop out of season coaching by running a holiday coaching course for the 5-11 age group.
Run a two day small -sided Football and skills Festival (11 -16).
