| It’s Ladies’ Days at Sutton United FC
All budding women and girl footballers should be heading to Sutton United’s ground at Gander Green Lane on Saturday 13th and Collingwood Rec (next door to the ground) on Sunday 14th to take part in United’s first Women and Girls’ Football Festival.
Saturday is all about fun football games, coaching sessions and skills competitions with prizes, trophies and lots of goody bags. There is also free admission to watch Sutton’s vital league match against Hastings. Whilst on Sunday there is a 5 a side tournament and girls’ cup match.
Chairman, Bruce Elliott, says “we are really enthusiastic about the two days and hope that the event will introduce more female players to the club and encourage those that are at present not playing to start. This is all part of the Club’s Football Development Plan which is nearing approval by the FA and we hope it will form a springboard to encourage more women and girls to become involved with the Club at all levels.
We are particularly excited because if all goes to plan there will also be a chance to meet a legendary England women’s footballer”
