Sutton recorded a fine 2-0 win away to Cray Wanderers this afternoon and extended their lead at the top of the table to five points as their two nearest challengers going in to the game, Bury and Lowestoft, were both held to draws. In a game dominated by a blustery wind, second half goals from Craig Dundas and substitute Bradley Woods-Garness gave U's a well deserved victory. Leroy Griffiths, signed last week from Staines, made his debut in U's starting line-up. Full match report, with photos, here, and Paul Doswell's view here.
Meanwhile Alan Bray played a full two hours, and scored, as U's reserves beat Leatherhead 4-1 after extra time in the 3rd round of the Suburban League Cup. Bajrush Halili scored all three of U's other goals in the game, which was 1-1 after 90 minutes, and they now have an away quarter final against Woking or Northwood, who play next Saturday. In a change of fixture, U's will now visit Metropolitan Police next Saturday in the quarter finals of the Surrey Premier Cup.
