Sutton have the Ryman League title within reach after a 2-1 win at home to closest challengers Bury Town this afternoon. Andy Forbes gave U's the lead nine minutes before half time, with Craig Dundas adding a second midway through the second half. Bury pulled a goal back from the penalty spot through Sam Reed five minutes from time, but in front of a crowd of 967 U's held on to move eight points clear at the top. The title could be clinched next weekend - if Sutton beat Hastings, who boosted their chances of survival today with a 3-0 win at home to Margate, then Bury must win on Sunday at Cray to keep the championship alive.
