Sutton United took another giant step towards the Ryman League title and promotion back to Blue Square South with a 2-1 victory today at home to Hastings United and now need just one more point to be certain but will be crowned as champions tomorrow if nearest rivals Bury Town fail to win away to Cray Wanderers. After a tense, close opening period Leroy Griffiths fired the U's ahead and Andy Forbes added a penalty early in the second half before the visitors pulled a goal back but the U's wasted a string of chances to ease the tension in the closing stages.
Match report, with photos, here and Paul Doswell's reaction to follow after tomorrow's game at Hayes Lane.
