Windsor & Eton 0 (0) - Sutton United 3 (2)
Sutton's unusual pre-season warm-up took another twist on Thursday when the unsuitability of Windsor's Stag Meadow ground led to a late change of venue to Eton Wick FC, and with the Haywards Meadow ground having no floodlights the kick off had to be brought forward to 7pm, although with M25 congestion it was nearer 7.30 when the game kicked off. Nevertheless the effort was worthwhile as U's enjoyed another successful workout and a second 3-0 win of the week. Jason Henry will have found it a particularly pleasing evening as, having missed out on Tuesday's game at Whyteleafe, he scored twice in the first half, the first a low shot from Paul Honey's pull back, and the second a close range finish from Craig Tanner's low cross. U's made four substitutions at the break and one of the replacements, Warren McBean, scored U's third goal with a fine individual effort, cutting in from the right past three defenders before firing home left footed. |
