Sutton United were defeated 2-1 today in their Ryman League Premier Division match away to AFC Hornchurch. After dominating the first half U's fell behind soon after the break and then lost goalkeeper Paul Nicholls to a cynical late challenge that led to Dean Palmer taking over in goal. Billy Dunn scored an excellent equaliser before Palmer punched out a cross that bounced back off an attacker and into the net. Although it was feared that Paul would have to go to hospital after the game, he was allowed home from the ground after being checked over by paramedics.
