After securing their place in the 2nd qualifying round of the FA Cup sponsored by E.ON, Sutton turn their attentions back to league action on Saturday with the first of a possible four games against sides in the top five of the table. After two successive defeats, U's will hope that Saturday's game at Tonbridge Angels (click here for travel details)will provide a repeat of last season's visit to the Longmead Stadium when they produced one of their best performances of the season to win 3-1. Like U's, Tonbridge were beaten semi-finalists in the playoffs last season, and having lost on the opening day of this season at home to Hornchurch they have remained unbeaten in six subsequent games.
On the squad front Justyn Roberts and Kenny Beaney have been loaned to Carshalton for three months, and Alan Bray is a major doubt for Sutton after twisting his ankle on Tuesday. Karim El-Salahi (foot) and Alan Pouton (trapped nerve) are also unlikely to feature, but Billy Dunn has returned from his month's loan at Margate and goes in to the squad along with new signing Stefan Cox and fit again James Hawes. Bradley Woods-Garness is likely to continue his return to match fitness in the reserves' home game with Northwood.
