Amidst all the activity regarding Sutton's FA Cup run, U's face an important Ryman League game at Gander Green Lane tomorrow when they can move in to the Premier Division playoff places with a victory over Waltham Abbey, who have found life difficult since being promoted through the Division One North playoffs at the end of last season and come in to the game on the back of a 5-0 home defeat by AFC Hornchurch last week, a result that left them with only Billericay and Bognor below the. What success they have had, though, has come away from home and they were unbeaten on their travels until losing at Carshalton earlier this month. Sutton captain Jason Goodliffe has recovered from the hamstring strain that kept him out of the FA Cup tie at Hampton, but is still a slight doubt after sustaining a cut lip in training on Thursday. Steve Perkins came successfully through training, though, and the only definite absentee is Karim El-Salahi, who completes his two match suspension.
Meanwhile the reserves can go twelve points clear at the top of the Suburban League if they beat second placed AFC Wimbledon tomorrow at Walton Casuals' ground.
