After a week of mixed results which saw them sweep aside Wealdstone with a superb performance on Saturday but then slump to a home defeat against Tooting on Tuesday, Sutton travel to AFC Hornchurch tomorrow (travel details on the 'away travel' page under the 'fans' section - note disruption for anyone travelling by train between Sutton and London Bridge), a ground where they have lost all three of their previous encounters, most recently last season when Hornchurch's winning goal came from Simon Parker, who also scored for Tooting on Tuesday. Sutton did beat the Essex side convincingly at Gander Green Lane in August, and Hornchurch have struggled for much of this season but did compete with Sutton for the most eye-catching result of last weekend when they inflicted leaders Dartford's first league defeat of the season, winning 1-0 at Princes Park, and they took Blue Square South side Chelmsford to a replay in the FA Trophy the previous week, drawing 4-4 away before losing 2-1 at home. Sutton, now 6th in the table after Tooting jumped above them on Tuesday, will have Charlie Taylor and Sonny Cobbs back in the squad after both missed Tuesday's game, Taylor delayed on his way to the game and Cobbs on an overseas trip, but Karim El-Salahi remains an injury doubt having hurt his back in training last week - he has been undergoing treatment and is hopeful of being fit by the weekend.
The reserves are at home to Basingstoke tomorrow in the Suburban League.
