After a successful run of away games which has seen Sutton rise to third place in the Ryman League table, U's return to Gander Green Lane tomorrow when they entertain Maidstone United, whose important home win on Tuesday against Billericay gave them some breathing space at the other end of the table. That was only their third home league win of the season, one of the other two coming against Sutton in November, but their away form has been very good with seven wins in their fifteen away games. Last season U's led 2-0 early in the second half but Maidstone came back to grab a 2-2 draw, so U's are still looking for their first win over the Kent club since being relegated two seasons ago. Unbeaten in the last seven league games, U's received a boost without playing on Thursday when Horsham, who could have moved level on points with Sutton had they won, lost 2-1 to bottom of the table Waltham Abbey.
Sutton's reserves are away to Ashford in a Suburban League game on Saturday.
