SUTTON UTD 1 HAMPTON & RICHMOND BOROUGH 4
Despite a convincing scoreline, Sutton had the chances to do much better in this game, including missing a penalty early in the second half when they were a single goal down. In a first half of few chances U’s had to clear an early corner off the line, while Franck Niamke hit the side netting following a quick break down the left from Anson Cousins, but on the stroke of half time Hampton went ahead when former Sutton winger Jermiele Johnson fired a shot in from a narrow angle after cutting in along the left by-line. Anson Cousins missed a good chance early in the second half, but the real opportunity came when Matt Reece was brought down but hit his penalty too close to the goalkeeper. The keeper also denied Kevant Serbony beforeHamptondoubled their lead when a long range shot slithered through Antonio Dulgheru’s hands in to the net. Three minutes later Serbony reduced the arrears with an angled shot after he had gone through on the right, butHamptonsoon restored the two goal advantage from a rebound after Dulgheru had made a good save from a free kick. Serbony drew one more fine save from theHamptonkeeper before some poor defending allowed a fourth goal to be scored from the edge of the penalty area.
