Wednesday 22 February– Suburban League
SUTTON UTD 0 AFC WIMBLEDON 2
Having taken over at the top of the league table on Saturday, Sutton found their lead cut to one point by AFC Wimbledon, who have four games in hand and comfortably won this game at Banstead. Despite having the wind on their backs in the first half Sutton struggled to make any impression andWimbledonmight have scored on a couple of occasions before a low cross was swept convincingly in to the net midway through the first half. Two minutes later Ulysse Obame Ndong made a good save to prevent a second, and he remained the busier keeper in the second half, making two fine saves before a superb curling shot beat him again with twenty minutes left. It wasn’t until the last fifteen minutes that U’s created a clear chance, Kevant Serbony hitting the side netting, but the game finished withWimbledonon top and Ndong making another good save.
