Sutton again finish 5th in Season 93-94 behind champions Stevenage Borough, but all the excitement was reserved for the FA Cup with U's reaching the 3rd Round for the 4th time. On route a thrilling 4-3 victory at Layer Road Colchester before a long trip to Torquay United where U's avenged the 4-0 defeat of a few season earlier courtesy of a 1-0 win. This took Sutton to Notts County in the 3rd Round, where in front of a crowd of 6800 the home side took an early 2 goal advantage, before a superb second half performance bought the game back to 2-2. The joy was short lived as County struck against the run of play and somewhat controversially to take the tie 3-2.
