Thursday 8 April - Ryman Youth League
SUTTON UTD 3 CARSHALTON ATH 1
Sutton shrugged off the concession of an early goal to move to within two points of the top of the Central Division of the Ryman Youth League. That early goal came when a visiting striker lobbed the ball over Ben Clarke after just five minutes, but U's were soon level when Chris Sessegnon had his shirt pulled as he tried to break through on the right of the penalty area and Bajrush Halili converted the penalty. Carshalton almost regained the lead immediately with a 25 yard shot that rattled the crossbar, and just before half time a shot was sent wide of Clarke's goal from a good position. Halili had one low shot saved, but immediately after half time he was given another chance from the penalty spot after Dan Faulkner's header hit the bar before being handled away from the line. The culprit was sent off, and Halili again hammered the spot kick home. Fifteen minutes later Faulkner came up for another corner and this time his glancing header found the net unimpeded. Carshalton came close to pulling a goal back on several occasions, with Clarke backpedalling to tip over one long range shot, and another effort coming back off the post after a mistake by Ryan Donachie. but in the closing stages Sessegnon had a shot bloekced by the defence.
