It was a very festive-feeling Players' Bar which greeted the twelfth and thirteenth Strikers Are Key draws of the season following today's excellent victory against Wrexham.
We also witnessed a popular and emotional win in the first of those two draws as ball 14 came out of the purple velvet bag owned by the syndicate "One and Four" comprising John Lowe, Barbara Tickle, Mike Harding, Norman Summerfield, Doug Gardener and Peter Bromige. There was a huge cheer as SUFC stalwart Norman Summerfield chose the right key, opened the safe and won the syndicate £1,150. Great stuff and a brilliant Christmas present for his syndicate members.
Sadly, Gareth Miller, owner of ball 26, which emerged in the second draw of the day, was unable to follow suit, winning the £50 consolation prize instead. We move on to New Year's Day and the match v Bromley when there will be THREE draws, two offering a pair of 2017/18 season tickets followed by the regular 14th draw of the season with a minimum of £400 up for grabs.
Happy Christmas all - what a year 2016 has been for us all at SUFC - here's to 2017 which promises to be every bit as exciting!!
