U's recognised in league awards

Sutton's outstanding season which resulted in the Vanarama National League South championship was recognised at the league's annual awards dinner at the Celtic Manor resort on Saturday as manager Paul Doswell was awarded the Manager of the Year award for the division and five players were named in the team of the year, voted for by the clubs. Skipper Jamie Collins was named along with his central defensive partner Dean Beckwith, while left back Dan Wishart, who won an England C cap last week, midfielder Craig Eastmond and winger Tom Bolarinwa were also included. The side was completed by Maidstone goalkeeper Lee Worgan, Whitehawk's trio of Nick Arnold, Sergio Torres and Danny Mills, and the strike duo of Bishop's Stortford's Elliott Buchanan, who was also named Player of the Season after finishing as leading scorer, and Ebbsfleet's Stevenage-bound Matt Godden. The Kent club's programme was also voted best in the division.
