The Sutton United walking football team has been invited by the Surrey FA to play on the hallowed turf of Wembley Stadium in an exhibition match at the Non-League Day (FA Tophy and Vase finals) on Sunday 22nd May. One of the team, Steve King, was delighted by the news. "It's everyone's dream to play at Wembley, we are all massively excited. What an amazing way to end an amazing season."Earlier today the U's walking football team had a great day at the Woking FC Walking Football Tournament, supported by the Surrey FA at Woking's Laithwaite Community Stadium. The U's competed in group 3 and played some good football but despite only losing one match narrowly failed to qualify for the Semi-Finals, going out in goal difference in the group stages.
