Sutton United 1-0 Boreham Wood

28 February 2017

A goal by Max Biamou on the half hour was enough to give Sutton a second consecutive win tonight, but the slender margin did little justice to a performance which saw U's dominate for much of the game against a Boreham Wood side who lost Morgan Ferrier and Anthony Jeffrey to first half injuries.

Biamou scored when he ran on to an Adam Coombes flick to blast a shot past the advancing goalkeeper, but U's might have had more, Nicky Bailey coming closest in the second half with a close range shot wide from a corner. However they were still indebted to on loan goalkeeper Will Puddy for a crucial save to deny Bruno Andrade on the stroke of half time in a one-on-one situation.

Both Craig Eastmond and Simon Downer picked up bookings which will rule them out of Saturday's trip to Barrow and the home game against York.

Full report to follow.

Team: Puddy, Amankwaah, Spence, Downer, Eastmond, Collins, Deacon, Jebb, Biamou(Gomis), Coombes(Dundas), Bailey.
