Barrow v Sutton preview

3 March 2017

Sutton make the long trip to Barrow tomorrow looking for a third consecutive Vanarama National League win after successes in the past week against Torquay and Boreham Wood. While it's been a good week for Sutton, Barrow have had a week at the other end of the spectrum and after being hammered 5-1 at Tranmere in the FA Trophy on Saturday they were the latest side to suffer from Guiseley's recent impressive home form on Tuesday, going down by the only goal.

That left the Cumbrians five points outside the play-off zone, albeit with games in hand on the sides immediately above them after a good FA Cup run which saw them beat Bristol Rovers in the second round before going out against Rochdale. Only Forest Green and Southport have won at Holker Street this season, both those since Christmas.

Sutton, who will again travel on Friday, will be without the suspended Craig Eastmond and Simon Downer, but Dean Beckwith should be fit to return and Kieron Cadogan's signing has been completed in time for him to be included in the squad. Pape Gueye has joined Jeffrey Monakana on a month's loan at Margate.
