At this week's Non-League Paper National Game Awards we were delighted to be named as the Football Foundation Community Club Of The Year. Chairman Bruce Elliott and Bobby Childs, Community Fund Manager, collected the award.Afterwards, Bruce revealed how pleased he was to accept the award. "I'm delighted we have been acknowledged with this award, not only because our community programme is one of our core objectives but also because it honours so many people; you can't win an award like this without a whole team of people pulling together. So, at the risk of leaving people out, I'd like to name-check Dave Farebrother, Executive Officer for our Community Programme; Tony Henderson-Smith, Football Development Officer; Community Officer Rob Hardy; Community Team Manager Steve King and coach Steve Preedy, Jamie De Cruz and, of course, Bobby Childs. I'd also like to thank Crystal Palace FC and Jeremy Ramsden of Abbotts. But to get to this level is not a one-year effort so I'd also like to thank all those people who have played important parts in previous years. We also owe a big debt of thanks for the financial support received from The National League Trust and our fantastic sponsors Smith & Byford, Hunters Estate Agents, Predator Pest Solutions, A-Line, ImageWORX and SureCare.
