Substitute Tommy Wright struck in the ninth minute of stoppage time to grab a richly deserved point for Sutton at Hartlepool, but the delight with the point was tempered by a serious injury to Craig Eastmond, the midfielder stretchered off just before the end with what was feared to be a broken ankle. U's had been denied by several fine saves from Scott Loach before going behind to a Rhys Oates goal six minutes before half time but Wright's late strike, the fourth time this season that U's have scored a crucial stoppage time goal, rescued a deserved point.
