Two goals in two minutes near the end turned the game in AFC Fylde's favour. Tommy Wright had put Sutton in front in the 20th minute, but Jonny Smith's deflected shot brought Fylde level with twelve minutes to go, and two minutes later leading scorer Danny Rowe pounced on an error to score the winner.
U's remain in second place in the Vanarama National League, now ten points behinds leaders Macclesfield, but with Dover, in eighth place, now within five points of U's.
