Academy and youth success

31 August 2018

It's been a good week for Sutton's younger teams, with the Under 18s making progress in the Save The Children Bostik Youth League Cup on Wednesday, and the Under 21s opening their Suburban League Premier Division campaign 24 hours later with a convincing win against Woking at Knaphill. The Under 18s actually found themselves a goal down at Croydon on Wednesday, but equalised on the stroke of half time through Jude Mason and then in a much improved second half performance went on to a 4-2 win, Juan Castillo scoring twice and Archie Mehmet also on target. We will be at home to Carshalton in the next round.

Thursday night saw Jonah Ayunga put Sutton in front midway through the first half and Ezre Ikebuazi doubled the lead before the break. Kyle Henry made it 3-0, and Jean Paul scored twice before the end to complete a 5-0 victory. U's have another game tomorrow away to Corinthian in the Suburban League.
