Sutton United Ladies Ready for FA Cup

15 August 2018

Sutton United Ladies ready for first ever FA Cup gameSutton United Ladies will kick-off their first ever SSE Women's FA Cup campaign when they host AFC Phoenix in the preliminary round on Thursday (23rd).

This will be the Ladies' first competitive game of the season, and a chance to show off the 12 new first team signings made over the summer. The Ladies are hoping they can carry on the success of last season which saw them secure promotion after a top of the league finish.

Manager Duncan Muller said “The girls have been training extremely hard in pre-season. They are raring to get out onto the pitch and put everything we have been working on into practice.

We know it is going to be a tough game, AFC Phoenix are a strong side and play 2 leagues above us. However we have added strength and depth to our squad this summer, and I have no doubt the girls will rise to the challenge – it should be a great contest.”

Duncan added “We would love to get as many people down to support as possible, so if you are free on Thursday evening please come down and help the girls secure the win”.

Kick-off is at 7.45pm, Thursday 23rd August, Knights Community Stadium.
