Behind The Scenes

25 July 2018

There have been a couple of changes at board level over the summer, with two directors resigning.

Tony Holland is in his eighth decade of following the U's and has decided, not unreasonably, that it is time for a little rest.  Tony is probably best known for more than twenty years as Chairman of the Wine Committee, running the Stadium Club, and is a long-standing member of both the board of directors and club management committee. He still hopes to attend as many home games as possible and his wife, Sylvia, continues to be one of our boardroom hosts on match days.

Lee Wallis can't trace his association with the club back quite as far as Tony, having joined as a player in the mid 1970s and scoring 10 times in 57 appearances.  He has been a director for more than ten years but now finds that various business and personal reasons will restrict his involvement with the club. Lee will still be attending as many games as he can and has offered to continue lending his professional knowledge in support of our pension scheme and managing our insurance needs.

On behalf of the board and, indeed, everyone at Sutton United I would like to place on record our great appreciation for the efforts of them both over many years and hope that they continue to enjoy many more years of supporting the U's, where they know they will always be very welcome.
