U's open against new boys

4 July 2018

Sutton will break new ground on the opening day of the 2018-19 season, Saturday 4th August, with a first ever visit to Harrogate Town, who will be making their debut at Vanarama National League level after winning promotion through the play-offs in the National League North last season. Indeed U's will soon become acquainted with both the promoted sides from the Northern Division, with champions Salford City the visitors to the Knights Community Stadium in U's first Saturday home game on 11 August. Between those games Sutton host Eastleigh on Tuesday 7th August, and the season then continues with trips to Ebbsfleet (14th August) and Solihull(18th August).  Relegated Chesterfield visit Sutton on October 30th, one of four midweek home fixtures, with the return in Derbyshire on Saturday March 23rd, while Barnet come to Sutton on October 13th with U's at The Hive on February 9th. The Christmas games will be against Bromley, at home on Boxing Day and away on New Year's Day, sandwiching a home game against Aldershot on the intervening Saturday, while the Saturday before Christmas will see U's at Halifax. Other Bank Holiday games are at Aldershot (August Bank Holiday Monday), Wrexham (Good Friday) and at home to Maidstone (Easter Monday). U's finish at Dover on Saturday 27th April.

The home game against Boreham Wood does not appear in the list - it would have been on Saturday 8th September but that is the date of the Irn-Bru Cup second round, in which both sides will be appearing. Blank dates are also October 20th and November 10th(FA Cup 4th qualifying round and 1st round), and December 15th and January 12th (FA Trophy 1st and 2nd rounds).
