Jamie and Aswad sign new deals

25 May 2018

Two of the team that propelled Sutton to third place in the Vanarama National League have committed themselves to the club for next season. Goalkeeper Jamie Butler who played in all but two of U's league matches during the season after being signed to cover for the injured Ross Worner,  and won the Players' Player of the Year award (seen below receiving his trophy), has signed a two year contract, while left back Aswad Thomas (above), who had a successful first season after being signed from Dover a year ago, has signed a one year deal. Manager Paul Doswell said: 'With the vast majority of last season's squad already signed for next season, and in some cases for the following season as well, I'm delighted that both Jamie and Aswad have also committed themselves to us. They were both important contributors to our success, with Jamie's performances recognised by the award from his team mates, and it's great news that they will be here to help build on the team's achievements last season.''
