We are delighted to announce the singing of two exciting young forwards.
Paul Doswell was pleased to get both signings over the line. "Darren McQueen is someone I have always admired and at 22 is the perfect age to come into our squad and improve. He's a good finisher and has fantastic pace, but now needs regular games to flourish. He comes highly recommended from everyone I've spoken to that has worked with him and it's fair to say if he had not suffered a knee injury he would be playing in the Football League by now. Another key factor in this signing was Darren's enthusiasm to join Sutton despite interest from many other clubs."
"As soon as I knew Paul was interested I was really keen to come. As a club they're known for developing young players and giving them an opportunity and I'm determined to take my chance here. I can't wait to meet the players tomorrow and start my Sutton career"
Another forward entering the building on loan for an initial two months is Brandon Thomas-Asante from MK Dons. " Paul Tisdale is a very good friend of mine back from his Southampton days, and he has highly recommended Brandon to me. We've had to wait for two weeks as MK Dons had a couple of minor injuries in the forward areas and Brandon has been in the first team squad for their last 8 games so we've had to be patient. Brandon has made 20 appearances already for the first team in his short career and we hope that he can really push on with us.
He's another quick second striker and trained with the team yesterday and made a great impression. We needed some freshness in the final third and both players will be available for tomorrow which is a lift for all of us."
