Late drama sees U's through

20 October 2018

Sutton booked a place in Monday's FA Cup first round draw in the most dramatic fashion at Grosvenor Vale when Aaron Drinan scored his first Sutton goal in the 94th minute, moments after U's had seemed to be going out as referee Sam Allison awarded the third penalty of the second half. However Jamie Butler saved from Bradley Bubb after Nicky Bailey had been sent off following a second yellow card for his protests, and substitute Jonah Ayunga then surged through to set Drinan up for the winner. Bubb had earlier converted a spot kick which was cancelled out by a Jamie Collins penalty awarded for a handball. Full report to follow. The draw is on Monday live on BBC 2 at about 7.10pm, just before U's face Sutton Common Rovers in the Surrey Senior Cup.

Team: Butler, Bennett, Thomas, Bailey, Clough, Collins, Bolarinwa(Beautyman), Eastmond, Drinan, Taylor(Ayunga), Cadogan(Wishart).
