"Man vs Safe" drama in first Strikers Are Key draws of the season

11 August 2019

The 2019/20 Strikers are Key season started in characteristically chaotic fashion with a remarkable double success for “man v safe” after Saturday's 2-2 comeback draw v Chorley.

Featuring strongly in the evening's events were Harry Beautyman and Jamie Collins, who brought their excellent on-pitch form in the first week of the new National League campaign to the SAK stage too!

Ball 24, owned by Malcolm Boyle, was the first out of the purple velvet bag in respect of the match v Barnet on Tuesday. In Malcolm's absence, Captain JC stepped forward and proceeded to open the safe on his behalf winning him £200 along the way!

Then, in the second draw of the day, Phil White's ball 11 was the next to appear. Phil delegated the responsibility to Harry Beautyman to attempt to open the safe and he also duly displayed the Midas touch by choosing the right key on Phil's behalf winning him £250, the coffers having been swelled by £50 courtesy of Aaron Jarvis' strike earlier in the day.

Quite a day!

Onwards to the 24th we go and the third draw of the season after the match v Dover Athletic. See you then.
