The Vanarama First Four

15 August 2019

League sponsors Vanarama have been busy assessing the season so far - and what's to come!

Sutton's story so far…

Undefeated! Three of the four have been drawn but staving off defeat for as long as possible is always the name of the game. The new era under Matt Gray has shown Sutton will be hard to beat.

Gray views his views...

The new manager always maintained spirit will be key and said “already we're showing we have a solid dressing room and the boys are playing for each other”.

Point of order…

The U's have come from behind in their last three games and taken something every time. And, of course, they grabbed that opening day win at Hartlepool United.

Top performer…

Harry Beautyman has been outstanding. The midfielder has three goals to his name already.

Stat attack...

League position: 11
Home goals for: 3
Away goals for: 4
Home goals against: 3
Away goals against: 2

Next up…

A local one with a trip to Boreham Wood, who have got a smart new stand to see. Wood have five points from a possible twelve and are coming off the back of a thumping 3-0 win at Dagenham.

Their one to watch…

Kabongo Tshimanga. He scored twice on Tuesday, and now has three in two games. The striker got 37 goals in all competitions for Oxford City last season. Sutton have been warned!

We've met before…

Back in April, in fact. Sutton were 2-1 winners at Meadow Park, Craig Eastmond's late winner after Harry Beautyman got the first made it a great day. More of the same on Saturday?

League sponsors Vanarama have recently launched the National League Club Reward scheme to help fans back their club's budget. Every time a fan takes out a brand new van lease with Vanarama or a brand new car lease with Motorama, their club will earn £100 and you will receive £30 cashback!
