Roar-ing back to Sutton

7 February 2019

Manager Paul Doswell has boosted his squad for the last three months of the season, with Roarie Deacon returning to Sutton two years after coming to national prominence in our FA Cup run that finished with a fifth round tie against Arsenal in which he hit the bar with a 25-yard shot. He had earlier in the competition scored last minute goals to beat Forest Green and Cheltenham, and the goal at Wimbledon that turned the replay in our favour and was voted Goal of the Season. He was also voted Players' Player of the Season and Supporters' Club Player of the Season. Roarie, who is 27, signed for Scottish Premiership club Dundee in summer 2017 and made 28 appearances before being released at the end of last month. Roarie will re-take possession of the number 21 shirt he wore in his first spell with us once his international clearance goes through.

Also being welcomed to the club is 21 year old striker Dylan Kearney, who has been among the leading scorers in the Evostik Southern League this season for Harrow Borough and has signed a contract until the end of next season. He has previously played for Hayes & Yeading and Uxbridge, and is seen below with Paul Doswell and club secretary Ray Ward signing his contract. Dylan will wear the number 11 shirt.
