Sutton United reached the FA South East Regional Disability Cup Finals for the first time and had a difficult challenge ahead with Reading Deaf and Sussex FA Representative Team, who have dominated this tournament in recent years.Since September, with nine county FAs represented, Sutton United battled their way through to the impressive Rectory Park, home of Middlesex FA, to take their part in the final four.

Semi Finals results:-Reading 1 Sutton United 3 [ Mills 2, Taylor ]Sussex FA Rep 4 Charlton Athletic 0

FA South East Regional Disability Final Sussex FA Rep 3 Sutton United 1 [Cheeseman]Sutton United Pan-Disability team, very much the team on the rise in Disability Football, continued their impressive season by upsetting FA People's Cup Winners Reading in the semi-finals with a very comfortable 3-1 victory. The final against last year's winners Sussex FA Representative Team started very well. An early chance fell to Mills, one on one with the keeper, but he lifted his shot just wide. The early pressure from the U's was rewarded when Ryan Cheeseman rounded the Sussex goalkeeper to put the U's one up in the final. However it wasn't long before Sussex equalised and despite the U's early pressure Sussex went on to win the final 3-1, as the U's Community Team finished runners-up in their third major final of the summer. It has been a fantastic year and all of the players and management deserve the utmost credit, they have represented the club superbly.
