Sutton 2-2 Hartlepool

2 March 2019

Sutton ended a run of three games without a goal but had to settle for a point as Hartlepool came from two goals down to force a draw in an entertaining game. Roarie Deacon, playing up front as Aswad Thomas returned to the left back position, put U's ahead in the first half and Gime Toure's deflected shot made it 2-0 ten minutes after half time, but Hartlepool were put back in the game by Mark Kitching's  cross that dropped inside the far post, and after good goalkeeping and defending had prevented U's re-establishing a two goal advantage Luke James levelled with a fierce volley from a tight angle. After that Hartlepool had chances to win through Nicke Kabamba and Liam Noble but in the end neither side could force a winner. Full report here.
