The club would like to announce a change in the name of our female section from Ladies to Women.
We hope this reflects a positive view on more modern language in the game. Women's football is now hugely popular and growing rapidly each season. We as a club have had two very successful seasons with the first team winning back to back league titles. The change in name will bring the club in line with other high profile teams.
Within the women's own social media outlets the team will be identified simply as Sutton United when links, photos and videos are published. The first team will be referred to as Women's 1st Team through the main clubs social media where appropriated and needed. This shows our togetherness, unity and equality in the game.
The youth teams will be known as Sutton United Girls when we need to publicise information regarding the teams.
