It was lovely to see Maxime Biamou back down the Lane to support the U's and our grateful thanks to him for joining in and making the Strikers are Key draw in the Players' Bar after the match v Bromley. You couldn't make up the script as he pulled ball number 1 out of the purple velvet bag, the number held by the Strikers' syndicate! Tommy Wright then donned the golden jacket and promptly chose the right key thereby winning the syndicate the £250 main prize. Congratulations to them!
NB There will be a “Yorkshire double draw” which will be made after next Saturday's game v Harrogate Town. My apologies for the “operational issues” which meant that the draw in respect of the match v FC Halifax Town didn't take place today as scheduled. It will now take place next week with £200 in the safe before the draw in respect of the Harrogate game is made as normal. Then we're back on track.
