We were saddened to learn of the passing earlier this month of Ronnie Hughes. A big fan of Liverpool FC, Ronnie became a regular at Sutton when work allowed and was a club patron for many years. Professionally, Ronnie had been one of the top jazz trumpeters in the country for more than six decades, working with many of the biggest stars of the post-war big band era, and graced many of our club functions with his magnificent playing.
