The Sutton United academy is pleased to announce a new 'Centre of Excellence' in partnership with the Junior Section for the forthcoming 2020-21 season.
The current Sutton junior players across the Under 13 to Under 16 age groups will have the opportunity to train on Monday evenings alongside their respective team training during the week. For further details click here.
Academy Head of Football Rick Wellard is excited for the future: ''Our junior section quite rightly has a great reputation, thanks to the work and support of all the coaches/managers and parents. The Centre of Excellence will continue to build on those foundations by offering our Junior players an extra training session if they wish. We believe this initiative will strengthen the link between the Junior section and the Academy, supporting players in their development towards playing for the first team.''
Junior chairman Dean Longman had this to say about the new partnership. ''This is great opportunity exclusive to boys in the Junior section to progress and develop as players within the Sutton United FC set-up, at the same time it will strengthen the links between the Junior section and the Academy which will provide the platform for the boys to progress as far as they can within Sutton United FC.''
