Sutton progressed to the third qualifying round of the FA Youth Cup tonight with a 2-0 win over Raynes Park Vale. In front of 150 spectators U's took a first half lead through Kylian Kouassi's excellent free kick moments after Raynes Park had had a goal disallowed for offside. Midway through the second half Raynes Park went down to ten men when a player was given a second yellow card for a foul, and Kai Tanner turned the resulting low free kick in to the net. Tanner was unlucky not to score again in the last minute with a ferocious shot which rattled back off the bar.
In the next round U's will be at home to Chalfont St Peter or Kings Langley, who are scheduled to meet on Thursday.
