National League Manager of the Year

11 June 2021

We're delighted to be able to congratulate Matt Gray on being awarded the Vanarama National League Manager of the Year for the 2020-21 season having guided us to the Football League for the first time in our history. Matt won the monthly award for February (below) and takes the annual accolade after a season in which we won more games and scored more goals than any other side in the league.

Matt commented: ''I'm honoured and delighted to win the Manager of the Year award.

You say the ‘Manager of the Year'; I think it just goes to reflect the hard work at this football club. It's not just me - I couldn't do it without a lot of people behind the scenes here. Jason Goodliffe, my assistant, has been my best signing. He's been absolutely amazing and a huge support to me.

I'd also like to thank the rest of my staff, the players, supporters, sponsors and Board of Directors, whose time and effort got us into this wonderful position”.

Chairman Bruce Elliott said: ''After such a memorable season, the best in the club's history, this is a richly deserved award for Matt and we're delighted that his efforts, and those of his management team, have been recognised with this fitting accolade.''
