Having moved up to sixth place in Sky Bet League Two on Tuesday with a 3-1 win at Colchester, Sutton are back on home turf on Saturday with a first ever meeting against Walsall.
Under the guidance of Matt Taylor, who made over 650 appearances during a twenty year career in the Football League, Walsall began their third season in League Two with only one win in their first five games, but since a home defeat to Bristol Rovers at the end of September they have been unbeaten in six league and cup games, and recorded their first away league win of the season ten days ago at Oldham.
They were only denied a second consecutive win last week against Barrow by an injury time equaliser. Both goals in that game came from George Miller, taking his league tally to seven, just one behind leading scorers Luke Armstrong of Harrogate and Exeter's Matty Jay.
U's win at Colchester came after two consecutive defeats, the first time U's had suffered back to back league reverses since October 2019, and the loss against Swindon ten days ago ended a run of four straight home league wins. Harry Beautyman underwent surgery on his shoulder injury on Friday and will be out for between two and three months, but Craig Eastmond and Louis John have both trained this week and could come in to contention, while Kenny Davis returned to action as a late substitute at Colchester. Richie Bennett sits out the second game of his three match suspension. Walsall are likely to be without the injured Liam Kinsella, Zak Mills and Rory Holden.
Referee on Saturday is the experienced Carl Boyeson, who has taken charge of over 600 Football League games in 20 years at this level and refereed the 2019-20 EFL Trophy final earlier this year, the day before the 2020-21 final.

The bars will be open from 12 noon, so you can enjoy a leisurely drink before the game, although the MBA Lounge will be closed after the game for a pre-booked function.
