U's have been dealt an injury blow with the news that centre back Ben Goodliffe faces a lay-off of around six months after being diagnosed with a ruptured posterior cruciate ligament.
Ben, last season's Player of the Year, limped off in the first half of the opening League Two fixture against Newport. Manager Matt Gray said: ''Ben's been a major player for us over the past three years and it's a huge blow to lose him, but with his attitude and character, and the medical staff that we have, I know all parties will work extremely hard to see him back in a Sutton shirt as soon as possible.''
