Sutton v Bromley preview and match arrangements

22 July 2022

Sutton's pre-season schedule concludes on Saturday when National League Bromley visit the VBS Community Stadium, the game kicking off at 3pm.

U's faced National League opposition on Tuesday and suffered a first defeat of the pre-season campaign thanks to Padraig Amond's goal midway through the second half, so will be looking for a win against last season's FA Trophy winners to finish pre-season on an upbeat note.

Bromley finished last season in 10th place in the National League, seven points short of the play-offs, but a Michael Cheek goal gave them victory in the FA Trophy final against Wrexham to ensure the season finished on a memorable note. During the summer they have added defender Callum Reynolds from Dagenham and striker Adam Marriott from Barnet, while left back Reece Hannam has joined on loan from Crystal Palace and striker David Smith has been added to the squad after impressing for Folkestone Invicta last season.

Whereas Sutton have been in pre-season action for most of July, Bromley are playing their third game and are still to register a goal, a 0-0 draw at home to Dartford last Saturday following by a 2-0 defeat against Tottenham's Under 21s on Tuesday, when defender Chris Bush was sent off for two yellow cards.

As with Tuesday's game there are no advance tickets for Saturday's game and no segregation. Admission is all pay at the turnstile, cash or card. Prices are £10 for adults, £6 for concessions and £3 for juniors, with a £2 increase for a seat. Tickets for Under 12s are free if bought in conjunction with an adult or concession ticket. Season tickets ARE valid.

It will be a first chance for Sutton supporters to sample the view from the rebuilt terrace on the Collingwood side of the main stand, known as the Tardis terrace (above), which will be open for the first time.

We will have a commentary on our Mixlr channel as usual before reverting to the EFL's iFollow system for the EFL campaign next week, while we still have some copies of the programme that was produced for all three of our pre-season games available to order on line here, price £2 plus postage.

Tickets for the Newport game, as well as our away trips to Doncaster and MK Dons, are on sale at the ticket kiosk on Saturday.
