Sutton United would like to announce the departure of Marvin Williams from his position as Head of the Sutton United Academy.
Marvin leaves the Academy in good shape following the successes in the Club’s first Season as an EFL Club both on and off the pitch. Marvin’s team ensured the Academy not only started the season for the first time as an EFL Cat 4 Academy but were granted Cat 3 status to start our second season. This promotion within the EFL rankings led to an increased number of teams within the Academy and an enforced split into Elite and Non-Elite streams.
On the pitch last season the Academy delivered a fantastic performance highlighted by the progress of the Scholars' Team to the 3rd round of the FA Youth Cup, having beaten Gillingham and then Stevenage, before losing on penalties to Preston North End.
Marvin first joined the U's in a playing capacity in 2012 before being instrumental in the establishment of the Academy programme in 2015 and its growth ever since. We offer Marvin our best wishes for his future, and thank him for his achievements at the Club.
