Sutton's academy side twice came from a goal down in the second half to grab a well deserved 3-3 draw against Northampton this morning.
Jake Tones gave U's a first half lead, only for Northampton to equalise before half time from the penalty spot, and go ahead early in the second half when a low cross from the right was turned past Sam Roberts. U's drew level through a superb Kai Tanner free kick, the ball clipping the post on its way in, but the visitors edged in front again when the ball was forced in at the far post as U's looked for an offside flag. However U's youngsters weren't to be denied a point, and Oliver Khinda glanced in a header from Gucci Soulya-Osekongo's cross to make it 3-3. It might have been even better, but after going round the goalkeeper Tanner shot in to the side netting from a narrow angle in the last minute.
