We are very aware that as the club moves forward and our attendances grow, then our matchday crowds will increasingly include people who may need help, in one way or another, to fully enjoy their visit.
We now provide a dedicated facility for spectators who use wheelchairs and will look to improve this as we develop further, and we are exploring ways in which to provide a matchday, in-stadium commentary for people who have a visual impairment.
But not all disabilities are obvious and so we are pleased to announce the launch of our new U's Memories programme, an initiative which is intended to help people who might become disorientated if they lose contact with their friends or families or just get confused by the crowds and noise of matchday. U's Memories consists of a support pack that contains:-
- A wristband with the spectator's seat number
- A wristband that says "I may need help. Thank you"
- 2 simple stadium maps, including a guide to seat numbers and locations of toilets and snack bars.
- A memory sheet, with prompts to start conversations about famous events in club history
