125th anniversary party - full details

8 February 2023

On Sunday 5th March the club will celebrate its 125th anniversary, an important milestone as anyone will surely agree. We’ve come a long way from that first meeting in the Robin Hood pub in 1898.

We will be celebrating the occasion with a party which will be on Saturday 4th March, after the game at home to Crewe Alexandra. The party itself is free admission and kicks-off at 7:00pm with a hot buffet of a meat chilli or vegan & vegetarian options. The buffet costs £10, and anyone wanting the buffet must book and pay in advance by clicking here. On the night it will also be possible to buy the usual fare from our kitchen through the hatch in the Players’ Bar.

At 8:00 pm SUFCtv will be showing a club history video in the MBA Lounge and this will be followed by inviting all surviving Hall of Fame members onto the stage, maybe you’d like your photo taken with one of your favourite players ?  The final, formal part of the evening will comprise the inevitable speeches but everyone will then have plenty of time to mix and swap their best Sutton United stories.

We will also be marking the anniversary in a number of ways at the game against Crewe in the afternoon, including inducting the newest three members in to our Hall of Fame. Tickets for the game, and the pre-match lunch, are also now on sale at the usual prices. Click here and choose the relevant box. If you haven't yet bought your tickets for next week's games against Swindon and Doncaster you can do that on the same link.

A range of anniversary clothing and souvenirs is already available online and from the club shop. Click here for the full range.

A new history book has been written, looking exclusively at the last 25 years, and that will be on sale soon. The author is Johnnie Lowery and he has opted for a relaxed, conversational style, interspersing the history narrative with the personal recollections of many of the people closely involved in the big events. The book runs to 172 pages and includes more than 70 full colour photos. All enclosed in an eye-catching hardback cover this really is an excellent and fascinating book and one that we think every Sutton fan will want for their collection.
