Our women's team scored five for the third time in four games to continue their recent fine form, although like last week they had to come from two goals behind.
AFC Acorns struck twice early on to leave Sutton on the back foot, but before half time Olivia Watson had reduced the arrears, and in the second half U's stormed to victory. Darcy Wells equalised eleven minutes after the interval, and with just under twenty minutes left the turn-round was complete as Ella Meehan put her name on the scoresheet for the second game in a row, this time heading home a corner. Sarah Chapman added a fourth five minutes from time, and there was still time for Wells to score her second of the game with a long range strike to put the gloss on a fine second half performance that moved U's above Dartford in the table to 7th place.
The teams are due to meet again next week at AFC Acorns' home ground in Lingfield, kick off 1pm.
The reserves' game against Guildford City was postponed. Next Sunday they are at home to Woking at the David Weir Centre and the development team, who had no game scheduled today, are away to Guildford Saints at Kings College Guildford.
